The 1950s, a time when rock and roll hadn't yet lost its "class."
A dress hat that combines a refined appearance with a touch of playfulness.
"BUDDY" is THE FAT HATTER's attempt to reconstruct that balance in our
own unique way.
The material used is 100% beaver.
Rather than being excessively stiff, the design intentionally creates a soft finish, allowing you to enjoy the depth of the hair's texture and how it changes over time.
The crown transitions from an open crown to a slightly teardrop shape.
By keeping the shape deliberately "not yet complete," it will gradually adapt to the wearer's time and evolve into its final form.
This is the idea that it is both a product and a tool at the same time.
34-38mm wide ribbon with 18mm piping.
By slightly emphasizing the contours, the overall impression is refined, creating a sense of quiet tension.
This "line" imbues the softness with intelligence.
The crown is modestly high.
The brim is designed to allow you to control its shape by snapping it.
It doesn't lean too much towards either formal or casual styles, but rather strikes a balance between the two.
THE FAT HATTER's vision of the standard dress hat from the 1950s.
It's not a finished product, but something that has room to be completed by the person who wears it.
