HOW TO FIND YOUR HAT SIZE
We have a few simple tips to help you find the perfect sized hat for you.
To measure your head accurately, you will need a tape measure.
If possible, we also recommend you have assistance from another person, to ensure accuracy.
Always measure your head about three times to be sure about your size.
All hats made at THE FAT HATTER are sized in centimeters; therefore, we recommend using a metric tape measure and measuring your head in centimeters.
-
Stand in front of a mirror. Place your tape measure around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).
-
Bring the measure around to the front of your head. About 1cm above your ears (which in most case is about a fingers width above the ears),
and position it in the center of your forehead, or just above the eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to sit). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.
-
Check what size your measuring tape shows. If you are in between sizes, we recommend sizing up and adding a hat filler to your order to tailor the hat and to fit your head perfectly and to make adjustments at home.
NOTE: If you are using a piece of string to measure, lie the string on a flat surface after you’ve wrapped it around your head and measure it with a ruler or standard measuring tape
